We reached $10K!!!!!

We started this fundraiser to honor Pops, and each and every donation and show of support has meant so much to our family. We have been blown away by the generous support of our friends, family, and community.

In the meantime, we're gearing up for our last several weeks of training for the 50K / 25K on June 28. After the race, you are all invited to celebrate with us, time TBD (for obvious reasons) at HiHo Brewery in Cuyahoga Falls for some good beer. We look forward to celebrating with you!

It's 50K Month

Monday 1st Jun
It's June, and you know what that means... it's F*ck Alzheimer's 50K month!!! We are going strong with our training, with over 550 MILES run to prepare.

Although we are training hundreds of miles apart, we're both rocking matching purple visors in honor of the Alzheimer's Association, as a reminder of why we are doing this (because sometimes, we really do need it).

As we approach the last few weeks of training, please keep us (and our legs!) in your thoughts and prayers, and consider donating or learning more about the Alzheimer's Association if you haven't already. Thank you to our friends, family, and community for their continued generosity. With thanks💜

Less than $1K left to our goal!

Tuesday 12th May
Thanks to your generous donations—including a donation from our beautiful matriarch, Pops's loving wife of 58 years!!!—we are less than $1K away from our fundraising goal. When we started, we didn't think we would hit $5k. Our family and friends' generosity and support has blown us away, and motivated us to continue our training.

Between the two of us, we have now run over 400 miles to fundraise for the Alzheimer's Association in our Pops's honor. Please keep us and our training in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you for your continued support.

Week 7 (& Counting!)

Monday 27th Apr
Week 7 and we are going strong!! FIFTY-NINE (59) miles this week between the two of us for a total training count of 306.5 miles. Your continued encouragement and support has motivated us—thank you!

As we continue along in our training, we wanted to share some statistics: Over 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. Behind every number is a person whose life is changed by the disease, and a person with family and friends who are changed by the loss of their loved one. Thank you for joining us in supporting the organization that will some day find the end of this terrible disease. 

Week 6 Update

Friday 24th Apr
Last week (week 6) of training: 51.1 miles, bringing us to a total of 247.3 miles!! Wish us luck on our week 7 long runs tomorrow! Thank you for your continued support.

Another Update

Monday 13th Apr
After a deload week behind us, week 5 of training is down: 35 miles for Chris, 14.7 miles for Elena. This brings us to a total of 196.2 training miles (!!!), with 2 1/2 months left until the F*ck Alzheimer's 25/50K!

Thank you to everyone for your continued support. It has been so meaningful to our family. As we approach End Alz day this Friday, April 17, please continue to keep us and our training in your thoughts and prayers.

Week 3 Training Update

Monday 30th Mar
Another week, another update. This week, we ran a collective 41 training miles, bringing us to a collective 118 training miles overall!! Thank you for your continued generosity and support! And f*ck Alzheimer's.

Memorial Service & Pre-Memorial Service Trail 10K

Wednesday 25th Mar
We are so grateful for everyone's continued generosity to the Alzheimer's Association in Pops's honor. We prepared for his service and celebration of life this weekend with lots of family time, complete with a 10K trail run to continue to train for our race in June. Thank you for your continued support!

Thank You & 50/25K Training Update!

We are so incredibly humbled and grateful for everyone’s donations. In less than a week, we exceeded our $5,000 fundraising goal and are continuing to fundraise in Pops’s honor.

Welcome to the F*ck Alzheimer's 50K in Honor of Pete LeVan

Sunday 8th Mar
They often refer to Alzheimer’s Disease as the long goodbye, and I can say that held true with my dad until it didn’t. My dad passed away last week on March 3rd. It was quick but peaceful.

He had always been a runner throughout his life—starting back with high school track and cross country. Even as the disease progressed, he continued to walk day and night in his memory care unit, until he couldn’t, and made it only a couple of days in a wheelchair before he’d had enough. I mean... this was a man who 2 years earlier broke out of a secure memory care unit by throwing his rollator over the 6 foot fence and climbing over after it to freedom. He passed his love of running down to me and down to my 2 children. My parents were always present at my big events and the kids' big events, and I’m thankful for those memories. I want to honor my dad the only way I know how, by continuing to run and raise money in his name to benefit the organization that hopefully will one day defeat the disease that eventually took his life. So thanks dad for everything ….oh, and F*ck Alzheimer’s Disease.
