Thank You & 50/25K Training Update!

Monday 16th Mar

We are so incredibly humbled and grateful for everyone’s donations. In less than a week, we exceeded our $5,000 fundraising goal and are continuing to fundraise in Pops’s honor. 


By way of updates, this week Chris (50k) and Elena (25k) ran a collective 38 miles in their training for the race this June. Thanks for following along with our training journey & for keeping us in your prayers!

Welcome to the F*ck Alzheimer's 50K in Honor of Pete LeVan

Sunday 8th Mar
They often refer to Alzheimer’s Disease as the long goodbye, and I can say that held true with my dad until it didn’t. My dad passed away last week on March 3rd. It was quick but peaceful.

He had always been a runner throughout his life—starting back with high school track and cross country. Even as the disease progressed, he continued to walk day and night in his memory care unit, until he couldn’t, and made it only a couple of days in a wheelchair before he’d had enough. I mean... this was a man who 2 years earlier broke out of a secure memory care unit by throwing his rollator over the 6 foot fence and climbing over after it to freedom. He passed his love of running down to me and down to my 2 children. My parents were always present at my big events and the kids' big events, and I’m thankful for those memories. I want to honor my dad the only way I know how, by continuing to run and raise money in his name to benefit the organization that hopefully will one day defeat the disease that eventually took his life. So thanks dad for everything ….oh, and F*ck Alzheimer’s Disease.
