Help me reach my goal for 48 Peaks!

This summer, I'm honoring all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias by participating in 48 Peaks, a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Alzheimer's is near and dear to my heart, and I appreciate you taking the time to donate.

I will be hiking to the summit of one of New Hampshire's 4,000ft. peaks in the White Mountains. Please make a donation and help me reach my goal!

In the last three years, we have made monumental progress in the world of treatment against Alzheimer's, including the first disease-modifying treatments. But, the fight is far from over. Today, over 50 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including over 7 million Americans. In the U.S. alone, more than 11 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing over $350 billion worth of unpaid care. We must take action now, as these numbers continue to rise.

Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease that they are not alone. Please make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!

Halfway there! And hiking for Aunt Joyce

May is coming up fast and I'm happy to share that I'm now over halfway to my fundraising goal of $2,500! THANK YOU to my most recent donors for your support:

I also wanted to share another photo of who inspires me to hike. I hike for my Gram - whose photo I include on my main post above. But I also hike for my grand Aunt Joyce, who is currently living with dementia in Florida. 

Back when I studied abroad in Ireland, my family and I traveled around the country to visit where our family is from. Aunt Joyce joined us for this trip and we were "roomies." We gave each other nicknames - Whoziwhatzi and Whatchamacallit - and became closer during those 10 days traveling together. In the years after, we would email each other to check in. Auntie even sent me personalized virtual birthday cards every year, which always made me laugh and smile. Sadly, following her diagnosis, these messages were no more and I miss receiving them. Even though it's been some time since we've seen each other, I still think of Auntie and hope she knows that I love her. I will always appreciate the memories we made together, and I continue to hike to #ENDALZ for and because of her.

48 Peaks 2026 is up and running and I'm so excited! 

This year will be the ninth time I've hiked to #endalz. I will hike Mt Madison (5,367′) in the Presidential Range to honor my grandma Marion, who had dementia, and my grand Aunt Joyce, who is currently living with dementia. This hike will also include a visit to nearby Star Lake, which I find fitting because Marion means "Star." She certainly was and is our Star in many ways.
