Dear friends and family,

I am very passionate about the fight against Alzheimer's disease and how this terrible disease affects so many individuals and their families. I lost my mother in 2017 after a several year journey of progressive memory losses and ultimately not knowing her sons and husband at the end of her life. The financial impact on my father and myself was devastating due to the high cost of memory care and other medical needs for my mom.

This journey of losing my mother and dividing my family has deeply affected me for the rest of my life. One of the things I now do to help ease the pain of my loss is to actively participate with ALZ.org to increase the awareness of the disease and to help raise money for a cure. This year I am riding my bike from Sussex, WI to Madison, WI a 75-mile ride on the longest day to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association.

The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice it's the day the Alzheimer's Association calls on everyone to fight Alzheimer's disease by raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research.
