At East 2, Alzheimer’s is more than a cause—it’s personal. Every member of our team has been touched by this disease, whether through caring for our residents or through experiences in our own families.

One in three older adults dies with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. That’s why early detection is so important. At East 2, we work closely together to notice any changes in our residents’ memory, thinking, or behavior, and we communicate those changes promptly with families and guardians.

We are committed to providing meaningful, enriching activities that stimulate the mind, support cognitive health, and encourage physical activity—helping our residents live with dignity and purpose every day.

From our Director, this mission is deeply personal. Having lost both her grandmother and her aunt to Alzheimer’s, she has experienced firsthand the heartbreak this disease brings. As she shared:
“The gradual loss of connection and memories was so hard—losing them in pieces, even though they were still physically there.”

Although there is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, fundraising gives hope. It supports critical research, helps us better understand the disease, and moves us closer to developing treatments—and one day, a cure.
