48 Peaks

Help me reach my goal for 48 Peaks!

Exciting announcement, friends!  As the world of 2026 continues to shock and overwhelm, one of the most powerful ways I've found to help push back against a (perfectly reasonable and understandable) feeling of helplessness has been to find an important cause where I can actually make a difference, and to embrace the tangible feeling of HOPE that comes from pushing back against the darkness in a very real and meaningful way.  Joining in the fight against Alzheimer's is my way of doing exactly that!

This summer, I'll be hiking to the summit of two iconic high peaks in the White Mountains of New Hampshire -- Mounts Whiteface and Passaconaway, in the sublimely beautiful Sandwich Range Wilderness.  I will be embarking on this adventure to honor the memory of my loved ones who bravely fought dementia and Alzheimer's, and to raise funds that will have an actual impact in ending this disease once and for all.

It is the sad reality that by now, so many of us have personal connections with this heartbreaking disease.  In my family alone, it has stolen both of my grandfathers, Harry Amiralian and George Frigon, as well as my wife's grandmother, Claire Ridge.  Together we can honor their fight against this disease by working together with the Alzheimer's Association to bring about the golden day when Alzheimer's is truly a thing of the past.

And there is good news.  Which, given the state of the world, feels like such a rare thing to be able to say, making it all the more powerful wherever it can be found.

In the last three years, we have made monumental progress in the world of treatment against Alzheimer’s, including the first disease-modifying treatments.  And this fight is not over.  Today, over 50 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including over 7 million Americans.  In the U.S. alone, more than 11 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing over $350 billion worth of unpaid care.  As these numbers continue to rise, it gives me so much hope to see the numbers of people joining in the fight to end this disease continue to rise all the more.

Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease that they are not alone.  Please make a donation today to help me reach my fundraising goal, and to help the Alzheimer's Association continue to provide crucial support to caregivers, researchers, and all the precious human souls bravely fighting this terrible disease.  Thank you!!I will be hiking to the summit of one of New Hampshire’s 4,000ft. peaks in the White Mountains. Please make a donation and help me reach my goal!
