Our Story
As volunteers for the past 8 years in a Pickle 4 Purple Tournament in our small Arizona 55+ community over $100,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association has been donated.
Little did we know at that time how this destructive disease would affect us personally. Five years ago, our son-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimers. Even as we write this, we have flown back to Ohio to support both our daughter and son-in-law. Sadly and mercifully, he has recently passed. The devastation is real and heartbreaking to loved ones and care givers.
In 2024, after listening to the Alzheimher’s statistics about their research and funding, or lack of funding, we thought we can do this tournament in Ohio, but on a larger scale.
Pickleball has been the fastest growing sport in America and the reason we now spend winters in Arizona. The health benefits are endless; cardiovascular, bone strength, balance, weight management, muscle tone, social and of course mental well-being.
We were not able to save our son-in-law, but with your help, your contribution will help all of those who are suffering, as well as their caretakers and family members. We believe that together, we can make a difference. May our generation see the end of this devastation.
To all of those that are presently afflicted, our hearts and prayers go out to each of you and your loved ones.
