MY WHY: MY DAD

My Dad lost his battle to Lewy Body Dementia in 2019 before he ever got to meet my two children and his grandchildren.

Watching a parent slowly lose the memory of who you are and who they are is a heartbreaking journey. My Dad was a proud Marine, a brilliant engineer, and a gifted painter. One of the moments that will always stay with me was sitting down to write a speech about how he would be remembered—not for what the disease took, but for the incredible man he was to all who loved him.
