Welcome to the 4th Annual Pickleball Clinic2EndAlz!
Aloha friends!
The 4th annual pickleball Clinic2EndAlz fundraiser at the Pacific Club is in the books and by every measure, it was a great success!
We raised over $16,000—shattering our $10,000 goal for the fourth consecutive year! Beyond the financial success, it was clear we also achieved our goal of making the day as enjoyable as it is impactful.
A big shoutout to our volunteer instructors, (fellow Alzheimer’s board member) Rachel Lindsey, Bruce Jackson, Daniel Rodi and Allyn Kau for blending professional expertise with high-energy fun to help our participants master Pickleball strategy and play!
This clinic draws not only players who love the sport, but also generous donors who simply want to see a cure for this disease. A few inspiring highlights about this year's event include;
• Record-Breaking Turnout: We had more players on the courts than ever before.
• Generous Non-Playing Donors: A growing number of people contributed purely to support the cause with no intent on participating in the sessions.
• Community Support: Wonderful backing from friends and local businesses resulted in more and better prizes for our lucky draw opportunities.
Thanks to my wife, Kelli, we had faster, easier and more streamlined check-in procedures for registered participants, and nice displays of prizes that made it easier for prospective donors to be generous when entering to win lucky draw items. Mahalo, also, to Donna White for taking charge of the check-in desk, and to Alzheimer’s executive Director, LJ Duenas, for going above and beyond, arriving early and staying late to help in various ways throughout the morning.
Our family has felt the devastation of watching a loved one suffer from and ultimately succumb to Alzheimer’s disease. This cause is personal to us, as it is for many of you. Engaging with like-minded community volunteers has made clear just how deeply this disease touches our community. We feel you!
The Alzheimer’s Association advances groundbreaking research and provides critical care and resources to the many families in our community affected by this disease. Wednesday 8th AprI’m proud to serve as a member of the Hawaii Alzheimer’s Association’s board of directors and to be hosting our 4th annual Alzheimer’s Pickleball “Clinic2EndAlz” fundraiser at the Pacific Club on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Thankfully, leading edge research is helping to identify early onset diagnoses, offering hope for more effective treatment and medications, and better support options until, ultimately, a cure is found.
Your participation in our 4th annual Clinic2EndAlz event directly funds the research and support options that offer a different story for the next generation.
