48 Peaks

Mt Pierce 6/20/2026

This summer, my team will take part in 48 peaks to honor the memory and recent loss of my grandmother to Alzheimer’s. 4K4Carolina will be hiking Mt. Pierce on Saturday June 20th. We will approach the summit by the Crawford path, and then take the Webster Cliff trail down to Mizpah Hut. We hope to rendezvous with friends and family at the hut who aren't quite up for the climb to Pierce Summit.

We will begin our hike at the Crawford Path Trailhead on 302. Anyone joining us should park near the Highland center. This is a beginner friendly route at 5.8 total miles with water and bathrooms available at the hut. Our main group will hike at a gentle pace and no one will be left behind who doesn’t want to be.

Please feel free to join us or make a donation if you have also been affected by the disease. I am happy to answer any questions, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

In the last three years, we have made monumental progress in the world of treatment against Alzheimer’s, including the first disease-modifying treatments. But, the fight is far from over. Today, over 50 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including over 7 million Americans. In the U.S. alone, more than 11 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing over $350 billion worth of unpaid care.  We must take action now, as these numbers continue to rise.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease that they are not alone. Please make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
