"I support the Alzheimer’s Association and ski and raise funds for the Camels Hump Challenge every year in loving memory of my mother Sandy Milliken who lived with Alzheimer’s for many years. Even as the disease progressed, she continued to be the same kind, thoughtful person she always was, always asking how she could help me and others. She participated in a long-term Alzheimer’s treatment trial at Yale New Haven Hospital, not knowing if she was in the treatment or control group and agreed to have her brain donated after death for research to further help doctors understand and treat this disease. I am also passionate about conservation and outdoor recreation, particularly backcountry skiing and love skiing around Camels Hump every year as well as on the Catamount Trail and other places in the northeast. The Alzheimer’s Association Vermont Chapter does an amazing job for this event every year and provides a unique and critical role supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s. Thanks to the Association and all the skiers and donors. "
